Parent/Teen Breakthrough The Relationship Approach

Posted on: May 27th, 2011

I am finding this book to be helpful for all families I am working with who are struggling with the challenge of raising and parenting teens. Although it was written several years ago it is practical and provides insight into why controlling teens does not work. As a parent I know that our kids can be difficult to engage and I have found this book to be a great resource.

If you’re the parent of teens or near teens, then you know how frustrating and confusing it is to try to be the best parent you can be. When this book first came out, it won the Parents’ Choice Best Parenting Book of the Year Award. It’s based on pioneering research into what parents of teens do that actually works.

The work that Fulbright scholar Gloria Simoneaux is doing in sub-saharan Africa is inspiring. I learned about her through Art Therapy Without Borders (ATWB). ATWB is an organization whose purpose is for charitable, educational, and networking purposes to promote, develop, and support international art therapy initiatives and the work of art therapists worldwide.
