Art Therapy Center in Children’s Hospital

Wow I would love to have a center like this in Austin at our children’s hospital. In November the hospital announced a $1.5 million Expressive Therapy Center that would house therapeutic arts for children with serious or life-threatening health problems.
The center includes an art area for drawing, painting and sculpting; a music section with drums, pianos, CD players and other items. It is now open.

Art Therapy with Tornado Victims

Here is an article about art therapy with victims of the recent tornados that hit Alabama among other places. This type of intervention with children recovering from such a disaster can help them process trauma in a supportive and accessible setting.
